What is a quality club? It is a
club which uses the “basics”, learned from more than 75 years of
experience.
These “basics” include:
-
Club officers who are trained and actively
participate in the Distinguished Club Plan.
-
Every Club meets weekly for greater
participation and learning.
-
A six (6) week club meeting schedule is
provided which includes 2 to 4 speeches per meeting. One speech, or an
extra “mini” speech of 4 to 6 minutes is specifically designed to be
educational. It can be about Toastmasters, speaking skills, personal
development, etc. (It’s also a great way to go through the basic manual
again for a second CTM! - Yes, you can complete another CTM!) All club
members are contacted several days prior to the meeting to confirm
meeting roles.
-
Members arrive on time, prepared and ready for
education and fun!
-
Prepared agendas are distributed to all members
and guests.
-
All speeches are manual speeches, and speakers
receive positive feed-back and thoughtful evaluations. Table Topics is a
part of each meeting.
-
Meetings start and end on time!
-
Business meetings are kept short. Problems are
discussed and solved at executive council meetings.
-
Guests are welcomed, assigned a host, provided
with Toastmasters materials, and invited to join.
-
New members are given an impressive induction,
given new member orientation, provided a mentor and become included
immediately in future meeting assignments.
-
The club uses and sets goals based on the
Distinguished Club Program.
-
All club members understand the value of the
Distinguished Club Program and contribute to achieve Distinguished Club
recognition!
-
All members have fun!!
